Sri Ananthakrishna Sastrigal was a luminary in the field of Advaita Vedanta and other Sastras and has enriched the Vedantic literature by bringing out various commentarial texts like
Vedanta-paribhasha, Advaita-dipika, Advaita-martanda, Vedanta-rakshamani, editions of the
Brahmasutra-bhasya with
Bhamati,
Kalpataru and
Parimala, the same text with 9 commentaries, the
Advaita-siddhi with 7 commentaries, the
Chaturgranthi-sangraha and
Sanatana-dharma-pradipa. His magnum opus,
Sata-bhushani, a critical reply to the several inaccuracies and objections to Advaita raised by Sri Vedanta Desika (13-14 century A.D.) of the Visistadvaita school, in his
Sata-dusani, even now stands out as a classic in itself.
MNSASIL is a specialised library which would focus on collection of manuscripts, books and referral materials including audio/video tapes, CDs/DVDs pertaining to Vedic and allied literature. We expect this to stimulate lot of research activities in this field amongst students and scholars. The Samithi considers this library as one of its most important contributions to the preservation of our tradition and heritage.
